If I Could Change The World I Would…… PLANT A TREE…!

The Windes’ Family Story….
With all of the attention on the environment we really wanted to make sure that our children ages, 6 and 13, understood the importance of trees and how they affect our air and quality of life. The kids really got into this! There were about 20 trees to plant and they saw about 200 people come out to this event to help out. We had a blast and they learned something in the process!! They are already asking, “What else can we do???”!

If you could change the world what would you do…..?
This is a question that we will be asking quite a bit now around here……We are hoping to not only answer the age old question of “How can you change the world??” but to in this economy inspire people to help others and give back. Our friends at Greenshops.com have launched an amazing national campaign and essay contest (for more info on the contest scroll down and read the post on Operation Greenshops) called Operation Greenshops. The grand prize….? A $5,000 scholarship!! BUT… we wanted to take this a bit further and it fueled us to see how we could help and also make a small dent in changing the world. So, we partnered together in this worldwide movement!
Here is how it will work…….
1. Purchase your Greenshops, “If you could change the world” t-shirt at www.greenshops.com. ($19.99, 3 colors to choose from, 100% organic cotton and super cute!)
2. Decide on a way to give back….. volunteer in your local community, help a neighbor, friend, elderly person in need, help with a charity organization or anything that comes to mind that is helping a human being, animal or the planet! The day you do this event, proudly show off and wear your Greenshops t-shirt!
3. Email us a photo of you in your t-shirt as you are giving back to… guru@greendailygrind.com along with a few paragraphs of your volunteer story and how this simple act of giving back made you feel….
That’s it!! All of these stories will be posted here on this blog and we hope that this will become a worldwide movement!! Help us help others….. This will grow into a community of inspiring stories and hopefully spark a greater interest for volunteering and giving back to this world…;)
